The Artist Project is a rendezvous for artists, art collectors, dealers and enthusiasts. View and purchase original art from over 200 juried independent, contemporary artists and enjoy an eclectic program of talks, special features, and art installations. Whether you are a first time buyer or seasoned collector, this four day art fair is a rare opportunity to meet and purchase directly from independent artists. Now in its fifth year, The Artist Project returns to the Queen Elizabeth Building at Toronto’s Exhibition Place.

Art Gallery of Hamilton Fall Art Sale - November 3, 4, 5 & 6

John is pleased to be part of the semi-annual AGH Art Sale event, which is an extension of the Art Rental + Sales Programme, a revenue generating activity in support of Gallery Programming. Past Art Sales have successfully helped to raise the profile of AR+S activities and participating artists alike, featuring a wide selection of local and regional artists in many styles, mediums and price points.

Artisans at the Distillery Art Fair - September 2, 3, 4 & 5 (Friday thru Monday)

This juried fine art show is part of a series of arts and crafts shows held in the historic Distillery District through the summer. The Distillery District is between Parliament and Cherry Streets south of Mill Street. Click the image for more information.

Uxbridge Art in the Park - August 20 & 21

John was accepted into the 17th Annual Loins Club Art in the Park in Elgin Park, Uxbridge. This show has 96 artists representing a broad cross-section of painting, watercolours, sculpture and crafts. Click the image for more information.

Desmond Juried Art Exhibition and Sale - July 18 thru July 28

Founded in 2006, this annual event invites artists and art lovers to celebrate the poetry and drama of our diverse Canadian landscape and rural culture. Hosted on the beautiful grounds of the University of Guelph at Ridgetown, the showing is a tremendous opportunity for visitors to experience rural Canada through the eyes of a diversity of artists. Works include oils, acrylics, watercolours, sculpture, photography, mixed media and performance art.

John's submission "Bales at Dawn" received an Honourable Mention.

Port Credit Art Show - Credit Village Marina - July 15, 16 & 17

John will be returning for the 13th Annual Port Credit Art Show. This show takes place on the boardwalk of the Credit Village Marina, 12 Stavebank Rd. S. in Port Credit. This exhibition will have works of painting, multi-media, sculpture, ceramic, glass, photography, jewellery, wood, fibre and metal. Riverdale Art Walk - Jimmy Simpson Park - June 4 & 5

John will be showing his work at this event for the third year in a row. The Riverdale Art Walk is a 2-day, juried fine art show, with artists showing indoors and outdoors. The show is open to all fine artists from Canada and the United States. The show attracts more than 10,000 art lovers each year. The organizers have had many artists tell them that the Riverdale Art Walk is the best outdoor show in the city. The show is held on Queen Street between Broadview and Carlaw, in Jimmy Simpson Park. Tangerine Gecko - Main Street Markham. John has been showing his work at the Tangerine Gecko Gallery on Main Street in downtown Markham since the summer of 2010. Tangerine Gecko is a vibrant, innovative, fine art gallery located on Main St. North (Hwy 48) in the town of Markham just north of Hwy 7. Riverdale Art Walk 2010 - Jimmy Simpson Park. This 2-day, juried fine art show is open to all fine artists from Canada and the United States and attracts more than 10,000 art lovers. The show is held on Queen Street between Broadview and Carlaw, in Jimmy Simpson Park.

Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition 2010 - Nathan Phillips Square. John was very pleased to have been selected to appear in what is Toronto's foremost outdoor art show. As the largest outdoor art exhibition in Canada, the TOAE offers a fresh-air alternative to conventional art shows and galleries. Approximately 500 artists participate and over 100,000 visitors attend the exhibition every year.TOAE is recognized as a festival and event of distinction by the Top 100 Festivals and Events in Ontario.

Gallery Update

Aerial Perspectives and Maritimes: Landscape Views. John was part of a three artist show of landscape paintings at Gallery deBoer for June and July 2009. The Opening Reception on Friday, June 19th was well attended and the show received good publicity.

Past Events - 2008

Queen West Art Crawl 2008 - Trinity Bellwoods Park. In its 6th year, the Art Crawl brought together 230 artists at Trinity-Bellwoods Park. Despite the remnants of Hurricane Ike approaching from the south, the show was well attended.

Neilson Park Creative Centre 2008. This juried show is held in the west end of Toronto to showcase the talents of artists in the Etobicoke area. Many of the artists use the Centre as studio and teaching space. More info on the Centre can be found at: Neilson Park Creative Centre
